Hi, I'm Sheila Brown from Elk River. I work as a lunch lady at ISD728, but before that, I was a stay-at-home mom raising three kids. My journey with body image and health has been quite a rollercoaster. In high school, I struggled with my weight and developed unhealthy eating habits, which led to serious consequences. Even in my 20s, dealing with weight fluctuations and health issues like fibromyalgia made it challenging to stay active and engaged with my family.
The stress compounded when my dad fell seriously ill, and I found myself juggling caregiving responsibilities alongside my own family duties. His passing, followed by my mom's battles with various health issues, including ovarian cancer, plunged me into a deep depression. Losing both parents and facing my own health struggles left me feeling lost and overwhelmed, especially during my kids' milestones without my parents by my side.
During this time, I connected with Nikki Path through our kids' hockey activities. She introduced me to a challenge team she was forming. Despite my initial hesitation, my husband encouraged me to give it a shot. Joining the team led me to meet incredible people like my first coach, Jacki, who guided me through that first challenge with patience and expertise. Despite the initial pain and doubts, I found myself making progress and feeling more empowered with each passing week.
Through the support of my coach, Heidi and the entire Fit Club community, I've achieved remarkable results. Losing 81 pounds, shedding 75 pounds of body fat, and gaining confidence has transformed my life in ways I never thought possible.
What sets Fit Club apart is not just the workouts or the diet plans, but the unwavering support and encouragement from everyone involved. It's like having a second family cheering you on every step of the way.
Thanks to everything Luke and the whole FitClub team have done for me over the last year and a half, I found the strength to keep going. I know people say I did the work, but I would have given up on myself if it weren’t for the support from everyone at Snap and FitClub.
To anyone grappling with self-doubt, take a leap of faith. The path to transformation is often riddled with obstacles, but with unwavering support, you can conquer the insurmountable. Luke and the remarkable team at FitClub didn’t just guide me; they lifted me from depression and poor health. Don’t underestimate the power of resilience and community—embrace it, and watch as your life unfolds in ways you never thought possible.
