My name is Mike Reshetar and while I technically live St. Michael, most of our community involvement is in Rogers. I work as a consultant for Cisco Systems helping customers leverage technology to achieve their business outcomes (yes Peggy – that is what I actually do….).  Prior to joining FitClub, I was involved in Tae Kwon Do for 10+ years. I also did a stint with CrossFit. As a husband and father to 4 boys, staying ‘in shape’ to keep up with my wife, Andrea, and the kids as they enter the adult phase of life is a priority for me.

You may be asking what brought me to FitClub. The answer is threefold:
1. My wife
2. My work schedule
3. Turning 50
4. I am lazy.   (The last one was a freebie….)

While I was passionate about martial arts, I found that my work schedule didn’t allow me to attend the needed classes to maintain physical fitness. I also found that my aging body encountered aches and pains from pivoting and kicking. That started to impede my lifestyle. In addition, my wife was correct in pointing out that I needed to focus on a holistic approach to working out by balancing flexibility and moving with weights.

I tried walking into the gym and doing it on my own, but I quickly realized that I lacked the motivation and reason to put together a meaningful workout plan. I needed someone with experience and knowledge to tell me what to do. Hence, FitClub.

After joining FitClub, my weight dropped back to where I wanted to be (I lost about 6-8 lbs), and I feel stronger. My hip pain that was almost debilitating at times is mostly gone. I also found a routine that fits my schedule allowing me to work out three times a week and it focuses on all aspects of physical fitness.

Anyone who’s in class with me at 5:00/6:00am will hear me whine and complain, the reality is I appreciate two aspects of FitClub: the coaches and the group I work out with.

If you are looking for a change in how you feel, physically or about yourself, and you want to start a journey in physical fitness, jump in to FitClub both feet first without hesitating. The coaches at FitClub are supportive and encouraging – and they are not afraid to push you. More importantly to me, the people that I work out with are encouraging and supportive as well. Having that makes the journey bearable and arguably enjoyable. Thanks to the coaches and the other members for being a part of my journey!
